Dr. Ashish Vaidya
About me
I was born and raised in India and I came to the United States in 1985 to pursue graduate studies in Economics. I completed my Ph.D. at University of California, Davis, and I moved to Los Angeles in 1991. I began my academic career at California State University, Los Angeles in 1991 in the Department of Economics and Statistics. I have enjoyed living in L.A. with its many opportunities for recreation, both physical and intellectual. Being a member of the CSU faculty has been a rewarding experience. I am excited about the opportunity to build a university for the 21st century. When I am not practicing my profession, I enjoy music, movies, tennis, bridge, and playing with my daughter and son. My research interests are in the areas of trade policy for developing countries, economic integration, and globalization. I have published research articles in the areas of strategic trade policy, and am currently editing two volumes of the forthcoming “Encyclopedia of Globalization.”
