Council for Emergency Management and Homeland Security

About this group

The CSU Council for Emergency Management and Homeland Security (CEMHS) was formed in May 2008 as a multi-campus faculty affinity group to promote the development of Emergency Management and Homeland Security education and training programs and research initiatives within California. One primary CEMHS initiative is the development of comprehensive EM-HS education and training programs, courses, and curriculum through the construction of “model programs” and templates informed by subject matter experts and linked with effective pedagogical practices. The mission and purpose of CEMHS is guided by facilitative collaborative processes reflecting the principles of participation, input, and feedback from the many key stakeholders within the EM-HS academic and professional Community. After all, if the goal is to build and link comprehensive, standardized, portable Emergency Management and Homeland Security education and training programs state-wide, these programs must effectively reflect the needs and concerns of our partners and stakeholders within the community.
